In Rainbows

 

 

Love is a rainbow.
I wonder
If the colors are God’s pure light
Refracted through
The different dancing atoms of creation
Or if love
Comes sparkling from the hands of God
In varied hues
Scattered with wild and wonderful purpose?

 
Love is a rainbow.
I wonder
If God’s smiling promise
After the flood
To cleanse our souls and the world
With Jesus’ tears and baptismal waters
Rather than a flood of wrath
Means that every mini-rainbow caught
In a drop of water in the summer sun
Or after a spring shower
Is love made visible?

Love is a rainbow.
I wonder
if living into God’s promise
is like living on a rainbow
or like having all of heaven’s hues
poured into our hearts.

Godly Play

As we prepare for the restart of Sunday School this fall, there will be a meeting of teachers, parents and other interested folks to hear a presentation on "Introducing Godly Play," The Rev. Judith
Snyder presenting. Location: Sunday School wing. The presentation is to be held on August 14th at 7:00 PM.

Ellyn Siftar named Director of Religious Education at Trinity

I am delighted to announce to the parish that Ellyn Siftar has agreed to serve as our next Director of Religious Education, taking up the position that Claire Horning will be leaving this summer.

Ellyn, will be working for the rest of the summer to recruit teachers for the Sunday School and Youth programs in the fall, and working with the clergy and other staff folks to fully integrate the youth and children of the parish into our community life.

I'll be asking Ellyn to write up a short note introducing herself and talking about some of the plans for the fall. Hopefully you'll see that note here before not too long.

Big things are about to be announced for our Children and Youth Ministry at Trinity.

Even as we are saying goodbye to Dr. Claire Hornung our present Director of Children's Ministry, we are in the process of calling her successor. I think we'll be able to make an announcement about that this weekend. (July 8-9).

In the meantime, bookmark this page. We'll be using it to post Sunday School program announcements and other goings on in the Christian Ed. program at Trinity.
