SERVICES THIS WEEKEND:

--5:00 on Saturday: Holy Eucharist and sermon, no music.

--8:00 on Sunday: Holy Eucharist and sermon, no music.

--9:30 on Sunday: Holy Eucharist, sermon, and music.  Child care provided 9:30-11:30. 

--Monday, August 6, Feast of the Transfiguration, service at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel

CHILDREN & YOUTH:

--9:30 Sunday: Arts-based, multi-age program begins at 9:30. Registration not required, feel free to drop in.

OTHER:

--MusikFest Parking: During MusikFest, the Vestry operate a parking service in our lot.  If you are coming to the church for a service or business during MusikFest, you are welcome to park in our lot.  Simply give the attendant an estimate of how long you expect to be, and they will give you a card for your windshield.  Otherwise, the Vestry requests that you pay for parking as part of our fundraiser if you are planning to Fest.

News for the week of September 10th

Our services this weekend move to the fall schedule:

5:00 on Saturday Holy Eucharist, Baptism, and sermon, no music

8:00 on Sunday--Holy Eucharist and sermon, no music

10:30 Sunday--Holy Eucharist, sermon and music. Child care provided during the 10:30 service.

We say farewell to Father Nick--now Dean Knisely--this weekend. From 9:15-10:15, he will be available for coffee and chat in the Parish Hall. Following the 10:30 service, there will be a reception for him. Please bring a dessert to share. And we will have a book where you can write him a farewell message, or share a favorite memory.

Also on Saturday, a work time has been scheduled to assist the Sunday School in preparing for the new Godly Play program. Come between 9-1, and bring scissors if you have them.

Looking ahead:

The Ministry Fair and Volunteer Recognition has been scheduled for Sunday, September 17. This is the day to celebrate all the many ways in which you serve, and also to find out more about other ministries going on in the parish. Tables will be set up in the Parish Hall between the services and after the second service.

Sunday School resumes on September 24.

We pray for blessings and safe journeys for Fr. Nick as he begins his new life of service at Trinity Cathedral in Phoenix.

Worship for July 29-30

Weekend worship begins on Sat evening at 5:00 PM and continues on Sunday morning at 8:00 and 9:30 AM. Childcare is provided during the 9:30 service. We will celebrate the Feast of the Transfiguration next weekend during our weekend services.

St. Paul's Kitchen in New Orleans

Fundraising efforts to rebuild St. Paul's Episcopal Church in New Orleans, destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, continue. Only $2,000 more are needed to rebuild their kitchen in time for the rededication August 27th!

If you would like to contribute, please make out checks to Grace Episcopal Church with St. Paul's in the memo. Or contribute online at St. Paul's Kitchen.

Godly Play

As we prepare for the restart of Sunday School this fall, there will be a meeting of teachers, parents and other interested folks to hear a presentation on "Introducing Godly Play," The Rev. Judith
Snyder presenting. Location: Sunday School wing. The presentation is to be held on August 14th at 7:00 PM.

Personalized Animal Magnet Fundraiser

The Animal Food Bank will be taking orders for personalized animal magnets. They will be inscribed with your pet's name. Each magnet is available for only $2.00 each and would make wonderful gifts. Order forms will be posted on the hallway and kitchen bulletin boards.

(Keep your eyes open for Animal Ornament Order forms in October.) Thank you from our furry, finned and feathered friends!

Quarterly Requiem

We hold requiem services quarterly, where we commemorate people who have died in the last several months, or anyone that we are asked to.  If you would like us to remember a family member, friend or loved one, please call Mo. Laura or send her an email.

The next Requiem Service will be this coming Saturday, July 15, at 5:00 in the church.

Mo. Laura maintains ongoing lists of names for each service, so if you have someone you would like remembered at a future date, feel free to let her know.

Ellyn Siftar named Director of Religious Education at Trinity

I am delighted to announce to the parish that Ellyn Siftar has agreed to serve as our next Director of Religious Education, taking up the position that Claire Horning will be leaving this summer.

Ellyn, will be working for the rest of the summer to recruit teachers for the Sunday School and Youth programs in the fall, and working with the clergy and other staff folks to fully integrate the youth and children of the parish into our community life.

I'll be asking Ellyn to write up a short note introducing herself and talking about some of the plans for the fall. Hopefully you'll see that note here before not too long.

In the meantime you'll be able to contact Ellyn at ellyn@trinitybeth.org within the next few days.

Newly reorganized parish web page

Thanks to the good efforts of Gaby Whittier, we have a newly re-organized front page to our parish website. Do check it out.

This is the first step in a process that will eventually see the website taken down and completely rebuilt. Gaby started our website years ago and has been maintaining it by hand ever since. But new tech will make it much easier for her to post information and share resources. (We're already making use of some of that sort of thing with this site that you're using at the moment.)

Keep an eye out for new developments. In the meantime do bookmark this site - it's going to be the primary place we'll be posting news and parish announcements in any event.

FLASH!: We have just about finished putting the details together on hiring a person to serve as our next Director of Religious Education. We hope to be able to make the full announcement this week in Church!

Also this week, we're excited to announce a new place to find news and information about Trinity Church. In addition to our website and to this email list, we've created a news page for Trinity. You can find it at http://trinitybeth.typepad.com - and it will soon be linked from our website as well.

The hope is that the staff and volunteers at Trinity will find it an easy tool to post information about upcoming programs and events - and the parish will find it a useful one stop to get the latest. There are links to parish resources and other information, plus some of the photos from parish events, in the right-hand column.

There will be a meeting on Wed. July 12 at St. Anne's Church in Trexlertown with the Diocese of Bethlehem's deputation to General Convention. They will be discussing the actions of the 75th General Convention and taking questions from members of the diocese.

A reminder for those who have pre-registered for the Bishop Day with Youth - it's coming up on Sat. July 15th.

We will be having a special reception and coffee hour following the July 16th 9:30 service to say goodbye to the Hornung Family as they move north and prepare to begin their new work. Please plan to be there to celebrate the many gifts that their ministries among us have brought.
